Collage Cards is a $15.00 workshop.

Alannah May'd Collage Cards


A simple no-fail formula to make 3 easy collage cards will be available on the day. Using gorgeous Native Garden florals from Paper Rose Studios. Workshop is mostly tearing and layering of paper and attaching, but there's a trick to do it. Relax and don't overthink this fun sit-down project using Kraft cards & envelopes.

Note: Tuesday afternoon is fully booked.

Please BYO Basic Toolbox plus:
Liquid Glue (fast drying is best)
Fussy Scissors.
That's it! No trimming, no scoring.

This is a relaxed session where you create your own card using elements provided.

Yesteryear stamps by MFT (My Favorite Things). Envelopes included in raw material bundle.

Please BYO Basic Toolbox plus Trimmer and Scoreboard (Imperial)
Colouring tools plus a fine tip Black marker. (e.g. Sharpie)
3D foam adhesive.

Technique: Stencil play and reverse bridge-fold cards.

SPECIALTY PROJECT - Upright Display Box Card and Gift Box

This will be a 3-hour workshop. Please allow for the extra long session.
Early bookings are encouraged. Only morning sessions available.
4 crafters each session.

Crafters must BYO:

 Ink Pads (Worn Lipstick & Vintage Photo Distress Ink) and Applicators.
(or similar coloured inks)
Trimmer & Scoreboard - Imperial.
Liquid Glue with fine tip.
Large 12mm Ball end Stylus.
Regular 3mm Ball end Stylus.
Vein tool - narrow spoon shape with blunt point.
Foam pad for shaping petals and leaves.
Spritzer Bottle with water.

Technique: Petal shaping and making a gift box to suit project.

ookings are essential for all workshops. No walk-ins are  permitted. Those attending are asked to please bring a basic toolbox on the day plus tools listed specific to each project. If you can't make it to a workshop but wish to make the project, please get in touch. A limited number of Make@Home Kits may be offered but these incur an additional service charge of $5.00. (Collected in person or posted for an added cost) Enquiries welcome. Email preferred.

THE RELAXED CREATIVE SPACE
Brightly lit and spacious with each spot featuring a 1.8m long table, an A3-size craft mat with a sheet of A4 scratch paper. A small waste bin is also provided at each spot and chairs have armrests and cushions for extra comfort.
Easy listening music is piped through wall-mounted speakers and reverse-cycle air-conditioning adds to the pleasant ambience. There's also a wall-mounted tv screen to display images essential to the workshop. All the messy stuff takes place at standing height benches with dedicated areas for ink blending, heat setting, stamping, die cutting and/or embossing.

Currently, for that extra crafting pleasure there's only 4 crafters at any session while we practice social distancing.

Doors open 30 minutes prior to an event to give you time to arrive and get settled, to have a chat and/or read any instructions before the workshop commences. Please arrive on time as door will close once workshop starts.

Workshops are tier-structured and may include, but are not limited to:

3x Easy Cards.
These may be CAS Cards (short for Clean and Simple).
Or may be a group of 3 layered elements to use as 'toppers' or on tags.
May include minimal layers/minimal embellishments/sometimes lots of white space/uncluttered/one main focal point.
(perfect for beginner skill-level)
or

2x Structured Cards.
These may include cards with multiple layers or beyond beginner techniques (which beginners are welcome to attend) or scoring/die-cutting/ink-blending/trimmer techniques/multi-layering/fussy-cutting/stencilling/texture paste) including gusseted envelope creation for those bulkier creations.
or

1x Specialty Project.
(e.g. larger than 6" x 4" boxed cards, box making, 3D/scoring/burnishing/folding/die-cutting/handmade embellishments/mixed media/chipboard/heat embossing/hot glue)
or

AD-HOC Technique workshop.
These may fall on a Saturday - date/s yet to be finalised.
(e.g. make multiple ink-blended backgrounds, with varying techniques, to add to your home stash)
Workshops will be held twice each week barring any last minute changes. Maximum of 4 crafters per workshop. Tuesday afternoon workshop will repeat on the Wednesday of the same week. Workshops are held indoors and will be subject to current Health directives (Masks etc). Crafters will be required to show proof of vaccination (Green Tick) and must sign the Register upon arrival.
Crafters are also required to BYO general tools, trimmers and adhesives. Bookings are essential. No walk-ins allowed. Please arrive on time so you don't miss out. Doors close promptly at start of each workshop to avoid interruption
. With a card making workshop you get the whole package. Your product bundle for each card project comes complete with liner material and a same-sized envelope or material/instructions on how to make the right sized one (e.g. Metric Slimline envelope). All this at no extra charge. Bookings are essential.

CREATIVE
COMFORT?
The creative space is Air-Conditioned and offers 4 spots per session with an armrest chair and support pillows for extra comfort. If interested in any advertised session, please get in touch as crafty spots fill fast.
YOU + 3?
If you have a small group (4 crafters) who wish to come on a specific day not already filled on the calendar, you are welcome to get in touch for your own custom session. Please get in touch to discuss further and arrange a day/time that suits. Minimum cost for a custom session is $100 shared between attending crafters (i.e. 4 crafters @ $25.00 each)

Sorry, no photographs are allowed. The
use of an image capturing device such as mobile phone, camera, or tablet is NOT PERMITTED due to Privacy, Copyright and I.P legislation. Before the workshop starts, please be considerate and switch your mobile to silent mode to let it go to voicemail or to vibrate if you're expecting an important call during any session. Be considerate to other crafters. Please excuse yourself from the room when taking a call.
THE SHOP
Alannah stocks some products and tools for crafters as well as most consumables frequently used during crafty projects. Adhesives and etc.
PARKING
There's adequate street parking in the cul-de-sac for visiting crafters. Parking on a nature strip or obstructing a driveway is prohibited under QLD road rules. If in doubt where to park please refer to Residential Parking Fact Sheet.
DRESS REQUIREMENTS
Appropriate footwear (closed in shoes) are required when attending ALL Paper & Crafty Workshops.
FOOD/DRINK
Food is not permitted in the studio and no beverages are provided at these workshops. If a medical condition requires you to bring a drink it MUST HAVE A SECURE LID to avoid spills.
GREETING CARDS for FUNDRAISING

A fabulous way to pay forward your love of card making... make greeting cards out of scrap paper and/or revamp old Christmas Cards for donating to charities to help raise monies for worthy causes. Most will accept hand made cards which have envelopes and are sealed in plastic sleeves ready for sale. Proudly add your name to the back of your creations. The simple joy of creating something by hand and the positive energy infused into each handmade card or paper craft item, makes it a unique and personal gift, and a joy to receive.
